Atom It's been a while since I've been able to blog. I intend to offer a brief explanation for my absence from blogging.
Formula 1 Home was where La Canta Magnfico Blog was born and has been its cradle for four years. However, there has been a growing problem with spamming. It was manageable until one day I suddenly found myself with 500 spam on the most recent blog entry. The problem wouldn't go away and could not be remedied, so I had to find somewhere else to blog.
La Canta Magnfico Blog Wiki is a bit younger, but has previously been able to carry LCMB writings when the blog was unable or perhaps incapable. Sadly, spammers got to that place at about the same time. Just to make it worse, the developers have emailed to say the entire free Deki Wiki farm is being shut down at the end of the year. Perhaps not the greatest place to resettle the blog.
Then came a rather large search for some site that might be suitable. I'd been searching for a while because the spammer issue had been foreseen without success. The list of rejected sites is long: ones that charged for services (plenty of places, including the Cloud offered as a substitute by Deki Wiki - I understand why but it's an expense too many for me), ones that needed hosting (b2direction in particular looked interesting, but hosting is too complicated for me), ones that had ridiculously poor usability (ask Sidepodcast about Wordpress/Alia compatibility... ...or better still, don't) and ones that plain didn't work (Wikidot - still don't understand why).
To cut a long story short, I ended up at Blogbaker. Hopefully to stay.
Thank you in advance for coming to read. The archive will be under retrospective repair for the foreseeable future, but from now on I should have a space that at least allows me to write properly!

minor clarification, we (sidepodcast) have no objection to wordpress' usability, it's just the .org version is an absolute performance killer under load.

May I suggest you make one last entry on your old blog telling people where to find the new one?
I will do such an entry when I have something new to post here (as opposed to just archive stuff). That should be some point in the next half-hour.
Just to make sure I catch everyone from there, I intend to cross-post some of the biggest stuff from here over there with a note indicating that any commenting will have to be done here. Some people are bound not to get the message the first time...
I have now done the blog entry at the Formula 1 Home version of LCMB explaining the situation. Having checked the options, I will probably be able to keep commenting there, but only for people who register for the forum. Some people hate registering for stuff though, so the blog here will definitely be necessary. It just means the adjustment will be easier for the long-time Formula 1 Home forum members.
